GPP#30 [Funko Pops] w/ Nigel Fullerton
Jan 01, 2021 Episode 30

For the last GPP of 2020 my man Nigel Fullerton pulled up to talk about his guilty pleasure, Funko Pops

Folks, I'm not gonna lie to ya...when I worked in retail I hated Funko Pops. The people, the quality of the figures, the "shelfwarmer" Pops of characters nobody wanted that my stores had DOZENS of at times...but in reality, as a toy collector myself, I was just projecting all the junk I don't like about my collecting onto another niche.

If you don't know, Funko Pops are a line of figurines that have the license to make virtually every character, fictional or otherwise, that has ever existed....and I'm only kinda joking. Seriously, this episode proves Nigel's guilty pleasure is pop culture and just expressed thru Funko.  All the figures adhere to a bobblehead style of tiny squat body with a big ol head, so your Goku Pop won't look too silly for standing next to your Ren & Stimpy Pops.  Are they for me? No. Do they get a ton of people into toy collecting that otherwise might never have enjoyed the hobby? Absotootly

This episode is long as hell, and while I encourage y'all to listen to the whole thang, skip to these time stamps to actually hear about Funko Pops!
